How Avalon Works

Avalon is an open-air shopping, dining and residential district in Alpharetta, just off GA-400 at exit 10 for Old Milton Pkwy. The shops line Avalon Blvd between Old Milton Pkwy and Westside Pkwy, with more on 2nd and 3rd St and along Old Milton Pkwy. It leans toward national brands, men’s and outdoor clothing and home stores, with a few luxury stops. Self-parking is free in the decks and surface lots reached from Old Milton Pkwy and Westside Pkwy, metered spaces on Avalon Blvd cover quick stops, and valet is $12 at Avalon Blvd and 2nd St, at Avalon Blvd and 3rd St, and at The Hotel Avalon.

What to Shop For

Women’s clothing runs from Tory Burch and Reformation (5170), which makes limited-run womenswear from deadstock and lower-impact fabrics, to Anthropologie (4180) for clothes mixed with tabletop and home decor. Lena Larose (8140), in business since 2006, is the boutique pick, with contemporary labels such as Citizens of Humanity, L’Agence, Mother, Rails, Staud and MZ Wallace bags.

Men are well served. Peter Millar (5180) sells performance sportswear, resort clothing and tailoring, and Atlanta-based Onward Reserve (8155) does sportswear and graphic tees in an outdoor-minded Southern style. Tecovas (3100) sells handmade western boots for men and women, and High Country Outfitters (4120), locally owned for more than 50 years, stocks Patagonia, Vuori, On, Hoka and Free Fly.

The luxury stops are close together. Watches of Switzerland (5120), the first in Georgia, opened in July 2026 in about 3,000 square feet anchored by Rolex, with OMEGA, Breitling, TUDOR and TAG Heuer, servicing and two VIP salons. It offers complimentary valet and private appointments, so book ahead for Rolex. CHANEL Fragrance & Beauty (5160) carries perfume, makeup, skincare and CHANEL sunglasses.

For home and gifts, Williams Sonoma (8180) runs in-store cooking classes and stocks Georgia-made jellies, pickles and sauces, good for a hostess gift. Crate & Barrel is at 1110 Avalon Blvd and Arhaus has a furniture showroom with free design help at 2830 Old Milton Pkwy. Posman Books (4105) is a family-owned independent with adult and children’s books, toys and games, Makers Market (3175) sells American-made goods in leather, glass, metal and clay, and Cappai Designs on Avalon Blvd does personalized gifts and keepsakes. Apple Avalon is at 8130 Avalon Blvd, and Whole Foods Market is open 7am–10pm daily.

Eating Between Shops

Restaurants sit along the Boulevard and on Third St. Rumi’s Kitchen serves Persian food with a long wine list, and The Cape draws on Cape Town food and wine, with a rooftop patio. Antico Pizza is the outpost of the Hemphill Ave Neapolitan pizzeria and closes early when the dough runs out, so don’t leave it late. On Third St, Colletta (900) does Northern Italy-influenced pizzas and pastas with weekend brunch, and Oak Steakhouse (950) serves Certified Angus Beef cuts. South City Kitchen, in The Hotel at Avalon, does Southern cooking from breakfast through dinner.

When to Go

Avalon runs Monday to Saturday 10am–9pm and Sunday noon–7pm, but many shops close earlier. Tory Burch, Peter Millar and Arhaus close at 7pm Monday to Saturday, and Reformation and Anthropologie at 8pm. On Sunday, Tory Burch opens at 11am, while CHANEL, Peter Millar and Anthropologie close at 6pm, so shop early. Crate & Barrel opens at 9am on Friday and Saturday. Valet is worth it only on busy weekend evenings.

Plan around the holiday events. The Lighting of Avalon on November 22, 2026 opens the Avalon on Ice rink and lights a 40-foot tree at 7pm, Santa’s Cottage opens the next day, and Makers Market holds a Local Artist Fair on December 12.
