Georgia Tech’s campus sits in Midtown, just north of downtown. Its shopping starts across the Downtown Connector in Technology Square, which opened in 2003 and is joined to campus by the Fifth Street Bridge. Tech Square covers the blocks between 3rd and 8th streets and West Peachtree and Williams streets, with the campus bookstore, the Scheller College of Business, the Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center, the CODA food court and a Georgia Tech-themed Waffle House. To the west, West Midtown, home of Westside Provisions and The Works, begins with Georgia Tech on its south side.

Barnes & Noble at Georgia Tech (48 5th St NW) is the official bookstore, run by Barnes & Noble College: textbooks and course materials, Georgia Tech apparel and gifts, computers, Apple products and tech accessories, school and dorm supplies, books and vinyl, and snacks. It is open Monday to Saturday 9am to 7pm and Sunday 10am to 6pm; hours change during breaks, so check the store page. Phone 404-894-2515.

Menswear and Design on Howell Mill Rd

The Westside’s two converted industrial complexes are the nearest shopping district. At Westside Provisions on Howell Mill Rd, Sid Mashburn (1198 Howell Mill Rd NW) is the menswear flagship, with made-to-measure shirts and in-house alterations, and Double RL (1170 Howell Mill Rd) carries Ralph Lauren’s workwear, denim and western clothing. For a first apartment, CB2 (1197 Howell Mill Rd NW) and Room & Board (1170 Howell Mill Rd NW) are on the same stretch. Around the corner at The Works on Chattahoochee Ave, Ballard Designs has its 20,000 sq ft flagship and Love Train Antiques & Home sells European antiques, vintage paintings and housewares.

For a break, Brash Coffee has a cafe at The Box in Westside Provisions, Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams scoops in the district, and Perrine’s Wine Shop (1168 Howell Mill Rd NW) runs weekly tastings; it is closed Sundays. See every Westside shop.

MARTA, the Stingers and the Trolley

Two MARTA stations on the Red and Gold lines serve campus. From North Avenue (713 West Peachtree St NW), East Campus is walkable, or walk three blocks west for a Red or Blue Stinger bus; from Midtown (41 Tenth St NE), take the Stinger Gold Route to campus; the Tech Trolley returns in spring 2027. The Stinger campus buses are open to the public and also run to Atlantic Station and Emory University. Hourly visitor lots on campus take cash and cards; the Area 2 visitor lot is next to the Student Center.
