Shopping Westside.

Two Complexes, One Trip

The Westside shopping splits between two converted industrial complexes about 1.5 miles apart. Westside Provisions District runs along Howell Mill Rd NW from 1100 to 1210, with menswear, fashion and home stores between chef-driven restaurants. The Works, on Chattahoochee Ave NW from 1235 to 1295, leans toward home design and antiques. It suits shoppers furnishing a house or dressing well, with lunch in between.

Clothing at Westside Provisions

Sid Mashburn's menswear flagship sells suits, sport jackets, shirts, denim and shoes, with made-to-measure shirts, in-house alterations and private appointments; Ann Mashburn's women’s shop is on the other side of the same building. Double RL (1170, Suite P12A) mixes antiques and vintage finds in with Ralph Lauren’s RRL workwear, denim and western clothing, so it’s worth browsing even if you aren’t buying jeans. Greyson Clothiers (1170) does performance golf and activewear, and Free People (1170) stays open to 8pm Friday and Saturday.

Rothy’s (1210, Suite 104) sells washable knit shoes and bags made from recycled materials; bring worn-out pairs for recycling and ask about the store-only limited editions. Anthropologie is across Howell Mill Rd at 1207, in Westside Urban Market. Warby Parker (1198, Building B, Suite 300) does eye exams and is cashless, and Framebridge (1198, Building B) gives in-person framing advice.

Furnishing a House

Home stores are the biggest group. Serena & Lily (1198) has its first Southeast Design Shop in the former Star Provisions space, Herman Miller is at 1198B, and CB2 (1197) offers free design consultations. Room & Board (1170) shows living, dining and kids’ room settings and says over 90% of its pieces are made in America. Design Within Reach (1210), at Howell Mill and Huff roads, keeps outdoor furniture on its second floor and rooftop patio. The Shade Store (1200, Ste A) lends free swatches for custom shades and drapery, Saatva (1183) is a mattress viewing room with free delivery and nothing to carry out, and Boll & Branch lets you feel its organic sheets and towels before you buy.

At The Works, Ballard Designs, the Atlanta-based brand, runs its 20,000 sq ft flagship with a design-services center, monogramming and fabric and wallpaper samples. Love Train Antiques & Home (1235) sells European antiques, vintage oil paintings and portraits and hosts vintage clothing pop-ups and rock-photography shows. Summer Breeze Flowers & Gifts and Woof Gang Bakery & Grooming are also at 1295. Back on Howell Mill Rd, Le Jardin Français (1100, Suite A03) is a florist’s boutique with terrarium workshops, and Perrine’s Wine Shop (1168) holds weekly tastings.

Eating and Timing

Little Sparrow is a French bistro named for Édith Piaf, with onion soup, steak tartare and chocolate soufflé. Just down Howell Mill Rd, Lucky Star (1050, Ste 110) serves coffee and Taiwanese dishes by day and cocktails at night, and Hayakawa (1055) holds a MICHELIN star for its seasonal counter meal. Miller Union cooks seasonal Southern-inflected American food. For a break, Brash Coffee has a cafe at The Box, and Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams stays open to 11pm, midnight on weekends.

Most shops open 10–11am and close 6–7pm, and a few stay open to 8pm on weekends. Plan a Saturday rather than a Sunday: Sid Mashburn, Ann Mashburn, Perrine’s and Le Jardin Français are closed Sunday, and Love Train is open Wednesday to Sunday only. Ballard Designs, Summer Breeze and Woof Gang don’t post hours, so call ahead.
